We hope that you are all safe and well during these difficult and challenging times. Following the temporary closure of our Pods, we wanted to let you know what we have been doing on the farm and behind the scenes at Wensleydale Glamping.
Even though our Pods are currently closed to guests, we’re still keeping busy as there’s always a job to be done on the farm! From looking after livestock to tending the grassland, lambing season and just general maintenance, we’ve got a lot to catch up on. Back in February, we introduced you to the newest arrivals to the farm following the start of lambing season, we’ve since welcomed even more new arrivals. By the end of April, lambing season was mostly finished so we now have plenty of playful young lambs on the farm, and they’re certainly keeping Tom busy!
Away from the farm, Mark has been helping a local contractor with silage making down near Kilburn under the watchful eye of the White Horse. He’s recently had a very badly timed and unfortunate breakdown with his digger too whilst working in a local beck – he certainly wasn’t praying for rain that day with his digger parked in a riverbed overnight!
If you have an upcoming stay, we are closed until we receive further Government guidance and understand that this is a disappointment to many of those who have booked with us. Please don’t panic as we would like to offer you reassurance regarding any booking with us - we aim to be as flexible as possible when it comes to altering reservations. We recognise plans may change as a result of the ongoing lockdown, and if you would like to speak to us about your existing reservation, future booking or a general enquiry, Mark is here and ready to help. For now, although constantly subject to review, our Pods are currently available to book from mid-July onwards and gift vouchers are available to buy on our website for use when we reopen.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support, and we really do understand how difficult and frustrating it is for those who have had plans disrupted. When our Pods do reopen their French doors, we will be ready and waiting with our spectacular views of Wensleydale for your enjoyment. We will be following strict Public Health England guidelines and implementing rigorous cleaning and hygiene protocols as per Government requirements.
